Van Dam BV has been awarded in 2015 a multi-million euro contract for the engineering, design, manufacture and supply of fire rated walls, roofs, doors and windows for the prestigious Yamal LNG Project, Russia, owned by Novatek (80%) and Total (20%). The project comprises 3 LNG trains for which a large quantity of modules will be built at several fabrication yards in Asia.

Yamal is a liquefied natural gas project located deep in the Russian Arctic, a region that is ice-bound for seven to nine months during the year and where the sun remains beneath the horizon for three months at a time. During the winter, the temperatures are -40°C. This means that Van Dam needs to meet extreme high requirements, not only in terms of fire rating, but also there are very high thermal requirements.

The project is being managed from the Van Dam headquarters in the Netherlands. Next to that, Van Dam has an experienced team of supervisors working on-site at the fabrication yards in order to train the local installation crews.

Van Dam is supplying more than 80.000 m2 of wall and roof panels, blast relief cladding, removable panels, fire rated doors and windows. The complete scope of supply comprise products which have been developed and tested by Van Dam in-house.
